Welcome to Istanbul
About This Spot
Stepping into Welcome to Istanbul feels like crossing into a warm and inviting corner of Turkey nestled right in the heart of Paris's Latin Quarter. The atmosphere hums with an easygoing comfort—you can almost hear the gentle clink of tea glasses and the soft murmur of conversations weaving through the warmly lit space. It’s a place where time slows just enough to savor each moment, whether you're dropping in for a quick bite or lingering over a long midday meal.
The pace here is unhurried, reflective of the restaurant’s commitment to genuine hospitality. The interiors carry a quiet warmth, drawing you in with their subtle nods to Turkish culture and the kind of friendly attentiveness that makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than a passing diner. It’s both familiar and a little adventurous, inviting discovery beyond the usual tourist path.
On the table, flavors unfold one thoughtful bite at a time—rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The experience is elevated by the ritualistic Turkish tea, poured steaming into traditional glasses, offering a moment to pause and reflect at the end of the meal. Whether you come drawn by the smoky allure of kebabs or the playful sweetness of künefe, the food here is never rushed or overcomplicated. Instead, it feels like an honest celebration of Mediterranean ingredients and time-honored methods, served with a quietly confident hand.
Conversations blend with the clatter of dishes and the occasional chuckle, revealing stories of locals and travelers alike who have found a small, shared connection here. This is a place that holds its own quiet magic, a reliable refuge where the tastes and textures gently transport you beyond the city streets. Even in moments of fatigue or unexpected detours, Welcome to Istanbul offers a steady comfort—a reminder that sometimes, the best part of traveling is the simple pleasure of a warm meal and a friendly face.

We had dinner there on New Year’s Day and it was so delicious! We had doner kebabs in pita wraps and fries. At the end of the meal, we were offered some yummy hot tea for free. The service was great - everyone was so friendly and attentive. Great place for some great food!

Imagine this: you arrive in Paris and miss your train to Marsaille, and decide to get drunk to forget your troubles… that was us. In the middle of the night when no restaurants were open, we stumble upon this gem of a spot, STARVING. The server was kind, took our order in 3 seconds, and served us the best donner kebab sandwich in this world (not just saying that because we were tipsy). During our 3 weeks in Europe it was the best meal we had. Highly recommend. P.s. I fell in love with their very very cute cat (and I hate cats)

We visited this restaurant in 2012 as a young couple and then again in 2025 with our children! We remembered eating some amazing Turkish food near notre dame cathedral and tried to time our day to get lunch there again, hoping it was still around and there it was. The food was even better than in our memory. We shared a pic from 2012 with the family and they were excited to see their old menu in the background. The service was great and highly recommend this restaurant!

I ordered a Doner Kebab sandwich, and it was really delicious. I had it with Algerian sauce and a side of fried potatoes. I really liked it!

Very nice and calm environment, as we walked in we were greeted immediately and set to a table. The food was good but could have been better. But over 100% would recommend.

We had a very good moment there with friends. The food was delicious, and the service so friendly and respectful! I do recommend! I will definitely pass by again when I'll come back to Paris.
